5 Simple Steps to Decrease Dark Under Eyes/Under Eye Baggage

Ok, let's be real, majority of us have enough baggage in our life, am I right or am I right?!  And I am not talking about your decked out Louis Vuitton Luggage set either girl! The last thing we need to deal with is waking up with puffy under eyes and dark circles, in most cases "raccoon eyes". This look is so not the business. These unwanted bags, circles, or puffiness stem from multiple factors. Many times they can be do to plain ole genes and heredity "thanks mom"! A poor diet or fatigue can also be a contributing factor. And in other cases it can be due to age and hormones. Whatever the case may be, I have a few simple steps that can help you decrease this unwanted baggage in your life ASAP!

Natural Remedies

  • Cool Cucumber - Using two slices of freshly refrigerated cucumbers, place them gently over your eyes, making sure to cover the whole eye. Relax for about 25 minutes, this will ease your mind and eyes. Cool Cucumbers carry anti-inflammatory properties that naturally help reduce puffiness.

  • Potato Method - Refrigerate a raw potato for about 10 minutes. Slice the potato into two circles that can comfortably fit over both eyes. Place slices over your eyes so that they cover the puffy areas under your eyes. Leave them on for 15-20 minutes.

  • Vitamin E Oil - In a small bowl add chilled water and a few drops of Vitamin E oil, mix both ingredients well. Get two cotton pads (big enough to fit over your eyes) and dip the pads into your mixture. Place the cotton pads over your eyes for 20 minutes. Doing so will help reduce the swelling around your eyes.

  • Green Teabags - Using two chilled Green Tea bags, place over each eye. Relax for 10-15 minutes. This herbal tea will help bring your puffy eyes back to their normal size.

  • Drinking Water - Dehydration causes the blood vessels under your eyes to become dilated and swollen. Hydrating your body reduces puffiness. Make sure you are drinking lots of water and staying hydrated!

If all else fails there's nothing a little concealer can't fix! Apply a concealer a few shades lighter under your eyes to take away the darkness and highlight your under eye area! Having it appear lighter gives the illusion that you're a wide awake bright eyed girl ready to take on the world!

SOUND OFF! Do you struggle from under eye bags or circles? What do  you use to get rid of them, or reduce them? Let me know in the comments below. I'd love to hear from you.

  1. These are some amazing tips, girl! I've tried both the potato and cucumber before, I need to try the rest because my eyes get super puffy if I didn't get much sleep and trying to put on eyeliner in the morning, #notcute! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having the best start to your week so far!

  2. These are some great tips! I have never heard of the potato method before and except for drinking water, I've only tried the Vitamin E oil, which irritated my eyes and the cucumber method. Thanks for sharing Hun! xo
