10 Beauty Hacks You Should Know

Being a girl is already hard enough. We are always expected to be these perfect beings, that look fabulous, smell amazing, and are sweet and cute and blah blah blah! It's a full time job being us! When it comes to beauty there are 100's of rules on how and what we should do. Just more work and things to remember. If your like me you ain't bout that life! So if I told you a few not so secret secrets to make life a little easier, you'd probably thank me right? Your welcome! :-)!

Here are the beauty tips and tricks your mama probably didn't teach you...

1. My Number One All Time Favorite Is...Zap Your Zit With Toothpaste

Put toothpaste on your zit! Yes girl, toothpaste isn't just for brushing teeth! It's a God send for immediate relief of breakouts. Next time you feel one about to submerge slap (not literally) some toothpaste on it. I promise in a day it will be gone with the wind!

2. Fuller Lashes With Baby Powder

Ok, so not all of us are blessed with full voluminous lashes. Heck if you're anything like me you are probably struggling with a case of  the "baby lashes syndrome". I for one love me a good pair of falsies, but honestly when I am in a rush I really do not have the extra time to spend applying them. If you want to achieve the look of having fuller lashes in a hurry, apply your favorite mascara, then dip a cotton swab in baby powder. Run the powder across your lashes. Once you are done apply another coat of mascara to seal the deal. The mascara with adhere to the baby powder making your lashes appear fuller and longer!

3. Whiten Teeth in Minutes

I am going to give you bang for your buck and tell you not one, but TWO ways you can do this at home using items you already have.

Method 1
  • Use Baking Soda - Apply a small amount of Baking Soda to your toothbrush on top of your toothpaste, and get to brushing. Pearly whites in no time!
Method 2
  • Gargle with Hydrogen Peroxide - Swish Hydrogen Peroxide around your mouth for 1 minute. The fizzing feeling in your mouth means it is doing all the work for you. Say good bye to stains and germs!
 4. Glue For Glitter Nails

Who doesn't love glitter nails! They look so pretty and effortless. But they aren't so cute when you try to take the nail polish off! One of the hardest task's in life if you ask me. Well next time you want sparkly nails use glue (like Elmer's Glue) as a base coat. Once you are ready to take your nail polish off, all you have to do is peel the glitter off! Easy peasy!

5. Mouthwash That Bruise Away

This is for my clumsy girls! If you are like me, and are constantly running into sharp corners of desks, or tables, or tripping over imaginary objects. You might tend to bruise easily. Well mouth wash saves the day for us! Douse a cotton ball with mouth wash, and apply it to your bruise. In no time it will disappear.

6. Shaving Cream That Removes Makeup

Do you keep getting makeup on your clothes? Before you try to rub it away with detergent and warm water (causing it to become worse), apply shaving cream to the area you have stained. This causes no harm to your clothes, and removes the makeup!

7. The Toothbrush Exfoliater

If you don't have time to make my DIY Lip Scrub, and you have a case of chapped lips use your toothbrush. Once you are finished brushing your teeth use your tooth brush to exfoliate your lips by rubbing it in small circular motions.

8. Beach Waves For The Lazy Girl

Next time you want rocking waves that will last all day, and don't feel like tasseling with your curling wand take a short cut. Braid your hair in a few sections, then flat iron the braids. Let them cool then un-braid them. You will have wavey hair that will last all day!

9. Toilet Seat Covers For Blotting

Do you find that you get oily throughout the day in the office? Out of blotting sheets, use a toilet seat cover instead. Tear off a small piece and blot your face, soaking up the excess oils.

10. Dry Your Nails Faster

This method may be a little cold  but totally worth it! Once you are done painting your nails, dip your fingers in a bowl of cold water. Let your nails soak for about 2 minutes. I promise this cuts drying time in half!

SOUND OFF! What are some of your favorite beauty hacks? Am I the only one that hates the word Hack? Lol! Let me know how you feel in the comments below!

  1. WHAT AMAZING BEAUTY HACKS ALETHEA!! I didn't know you can zap those zits away with toothpaste - I have very sensitive skin and am skeptical about this *hehe*
I've heard growing longer lashes with vaseline, it's the first time I hear about baby powder - will try this method cuz it's really inexpensive as compared with lash serums etc. Oh yeah and I use my toothbrush to exfoliate my lips too :D
Thanks so much for sharing these amazing tips and hope you'll have a fab week :)

  4. Wow, this is such a great, helpful post, beautiful! Some of these hacks I'm familiar with, but there are quite a few you've just introduced me to! I'm VERY clumsy, haha, so I will most certainly be trying that mouthwash hack and that baby powder one sounds great, too! Makes sense because now these brands are creating products that have this "magical" powder that's supposed to make your lashes look more voluminous, now I have a much more affordable alternative, thank you! I hope you're having the best star to your week so far, gorgeous, and thanks so much for sharing!
