Hi darlings! I wanted to share with you a few hair care products, that I have been in love with for the past couple of weeks. Under my layers and layers of weave, I actually have my hair in it's natural state. Although I love to wear weave, it is extremely important that I take care of my own hair. If your hair is natural, you know that it requires quite a bit of maintenance. I try to use products in my hair that don't contain harsh chemicals, such as sulfates. It is extremely important to read the ingredients of the products you are putting into your hair. Products without Sulfates help retain your hair's natural oils. Which is a great thing for Black Women, especially those with natural hair. We need all the oils we can get honey!
I love trying new products out to see what my hair responds well too. The OGX brand has been one of my go to lines, for hair care, for a few years. I love the fact that this line is made on the more "natural" side, and doesn't contain many of the harsh chemicals, that can damage your hair. As many other products you will find at your local beauty store will do. It is hard to find a great hair product that is not gong to cost you an arm and a leg, which is another reason why I love this brand. It is not overly expensive.
I generally wash my hair twice a week. I only shampoo my once a week, and condition it twice to lock in the moisture. Many times shampoo really dries out my hair, causing it to break. So I find that only doing it once a week has made it a lot stronger. I do co-wash as well, if you are wondering. You can check outmy co-washing postwhere I explain all the benefits for your hair.
I have been using the OGX Shampoo and Conditioner with Biotin and Collagen in it. My husband actually purchased this for me. He brought it home and I was like hmm, what is this, I saw the main ingredients and tried it our immediately. I take Biotin as a supplement along with my other vitamins in the morning. Biotin is naturally found in your body, but it can stimulate hair growth. Collagen expands the hair follicles causing you to have fuller thicker hair, which I lack.
So far I have seen a slight difference in the texture of my hair, but over all I like how this product makes my hair feel. If you are in the market for a new shampoo and conditioner I would definitely check out this brand. They have all types for different hair textures, and different needs.
After washing my hair, I let it air dry and apply this spray to it. This also has B complex vitamins, which are great for your hair. This spray smells AMAZING, and leaves your hair feeling moisturized and fresh. They say to only apply this to your hair when it is damp, but some days when my hair is feeling a little on the dry side I spray a little in it, and it brings it back to life.
Once my hair is dry I apply this Coconut oil. I have been using this gem for about 3 years now, and it has not done me wrong at all. I have tried other Coconut oils, and none leave my hair feeling as moisturized as this one does. It smells really great too. Coconut oil is great for your hair. It improves it's strength and flexibility, which prevents your hair from breaking.
Daily I use this Argan Oil Moisturizer, from Morocco by the brand Creme of Nature. Honestly I don't know if I LOVE this. I think it is a good product, I am just not sure I would repurchase it. I haven't really tried many hair care products from this brand, but thought I'd give this a chance. Have you tried this before or anything else from them? How do you feel about this product? I don't know, I have only been using it for about 2 weeks, so I will have to update you at the end of the month and tell you if it is worth purchasing.
SOUND OFF! What are your favorite hair care products? Do you have one brand that you are in love with? How often do you treat your hair? Let me know all about your hair care routine in the comments below. I'd love to know what you do.
